1 € VB 73271 Holzmaden. Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me out. I've got a 1980 Marshall JMP 2203 that is currently logoless. I'd like to grab a new logo for it, however, I don't want to get the wrong size. Would it be the 9" or 11" plastic logo?
Would it be the 9" or 11" plastic logo? I'd measure it myself, but it is currently Marshall JMP 2204 (1978 vs 1979) Thread I owned a 79 2203 and wish I had kept it around.
The only difference between a 1980 JMP 2203 and a 1981 JCM 800 2203 is the year, and the looks. They didn't change anything internally. Different years of JMP's and JCM 800's will sound different from other years due to different brands/types of components, but the circuit didn't change between the JMP and the JCM 800.

As Marshall's first master volume amp, the Model 2203 100W Lead featured all tube technology with a single channel, four inputs and six knobs. Years of Production : 1975 - 1981 Related Articles The JMP 2203 was introduced in 1976 and was the first MV amp by Marshall. Its a tiny bit thin sounding at low volume, but as you crank that amp it just gets sweeter and sweeter. One thing about that amp is you have to keep the power supply tight. From 1976-80 there were minor parts changes and later on the amp got a bit more of buzzy distortion.
